Tabakhane District has been a center of production industry since last century. This district was founded in the boundaries of the city in the past, but now it is remained in the city center because of dense urbanization. Therefore, Denizli Municipality started a process for transforming Tabakhane to a liveable district with its cultural, commercial and residential units. The goal of masterplan is to complete the original building with conservation, renovation and reconstruction and regaining old urban texture. The necessity of new spaces
is provided by adding wood boxes to existent buildings. The circulation includes a pedestrian network that is constituted by squares, gardens and a vehicle ring that passes from exterior boundary of district. The main pedestrian axis passes from the place where is the old canal found that provides water to Tabakhane.
